Playnik.com ist eine Browsergame-Community der neuesten Generation. Der User kann hier nicht nur mit einem Log-In Zugang zu allen Games erhalten, die er gerade spielt, in seinem persönlichen Profil hat er zudem eine Übersicht über sämtliche Game Aktivitäten und Awards, die er in den einzelnen Spielen gesammelt hat.

Der Fernsehsender BBC startet eine Doku über das Internet und nutzt dabei den sog. “User Generated Content” zur Lieferung der Ideen. Der bisherige Titel der Reihe lautet “Digital Revolution” und wird u.a. unterstützt von Wikipedia-Gründer Jimmy Wales und dem Gründer des WWW Tim Berners-Lee!

“Das ist ein Aufruf an Webnutzer auf der ganzen Welt, die uns mitteilen sollen, ob sie glauben, das Web sei die versprochene Utopie – ein offenes Spielfeld, an dem alle auf gleiche Weise teilhaben – oder ob sich, wie Aleks glaubt, heutzutage im Internet, das von Klüngeln und großen Marken bevölkert ist, die Hierarchie und die Ungleichheit der menschlichen Gesellschaft fortsetzen.” Die Wissenschaftlerin und Journalistin Aleks Krotoski wird die Sendereihe moderieren.
